Trek Description

Yala peak is situated north of Kathmandu in Langtang Himalaya range near the border of Tibet at the elevation of 5,732 meters. This is one of the lowest trekking peaks and the easiest in Nepal.

Our journey starts once we leave Kathmandu and drive to Dhunche which is about 7 to 8 hours by bus and we follow the trekking route of Langtang valley and Kyangjin Gompa. Once we pass Kyangjin Gompa then we will turn north to see Yala Peak. Yala offers you a spectacular view of Langtang, Lirung, Langsisha Ri, Gangchepo, Dorche Pakpa and many more mountain ranges from Nepal and Tibet.

Altitude Sickness

The term Altitude Sickness is used often but there are intact 3 types of Altitude Sickness. The most common is actually Acute Mountain Sickness – or AMS for short. AMS becomes a real threat when ascending at altitudes of 9,000ft or more (roughly 3,000 m).

AMS comes into effect usually because a trekker or climber ascends too quickly. As the air become thinner, there is less oxygen available. Your lungs need time to adjust in order to carry much needed oxygen to the different parts of your body.

All Ammonite Adventure treks over 9,000ft (3,000 m) include rest days – known as acclimatization days. Read more about altitude sickness »

...The views were breath-taking, the journey was incredible, but it was Mr. Pasang that made the experience so memorable. Both Mr. Pasang and Mr. Krishna went above and beyond our expectations...
